ゴミの山？宝の山？

10月も後半になってきて、段々と寒い日が多くなってきました。

今年もそろそろ薪ストーブの季節。

完全に僕の趣味で導入した薪ストーブですが、「趣味」と言いつつもちろん実用的な暖房器具として大活躍してくれています。

去年ワンシーズン使ってみた感想としては、

「本当に最高」

としか言えないくらい、めちゃくちゃ良い！

薪ストーブに火を入れて、夜中にボーッと火の揺らめきを眺めるのは堪りません。ストレスが全部燃やされていく感じで、ずっっと眺めてられる。

ただ、本当に最高の薪ストーブライフなのですが、唯一の課題があります。

それが

薪の調達・・・。

薪ストーブを導入してみてビックリしたのですが、普通に暖房器具として薪ストーブを焚いていると、アッと言う間に調達した薪がなくなっていくんですね。

なので、常に薪をどこからか調達してこなければいけないのですが、普通に買ったら薪ってめちゃくちゃ高い…。

1m×1m×1mの量の薪が、2万円以上したりします。

それって普通に焚いていたら1ヶ月も持たないくらいの量なので、ワンシーズンでどんだけ金かかるだよ・・・となってしまいます。

なので、家を建ててくれた工務店さんから廃材をもらったり、その人が紹介してくた造園業さんから伐採した木をもらったり、と何とか無料で薪を調達しています。

で、最近、その工務店さんが

「ここで薪が無料でもらえるらしいから行ってみたら？」

と紹介してくれた場所があります。

家から20分くらいの大きな公園で、どうやら伐採した雑木がもらえるらしい。

薪が無料でもらえる、なんて聞いたら行かないわけはない。ということで、早速行ってみました。

ただ、公園で伐採された木なのでそんなに量は無いだろうな、とあまり期待せずに行ったのですが、なんとこんな感じで薪が山積みになっていました。

そして本当に無料で持って行っていいらしい。

しかも驚いたのが、

薪用の長さ（30〜40cm）にカットされている

ということ。

おそらく、これって伐採した人からしたら、処分するのにもお金がかかる

単なるゴミ

でしかないはずです。

だから「薪として欲しい人はどうぞ」っていうことなんだと思うのですが、おそらく普通に伐採したままの状態では持って行かれない、ということを分かっていたんでしょう。

ちゃんと一手間加えて「薪として使える状態」にして持っていきやすいようにしてくれていました。

そのおかげで、その人たちにとっての「ゴミの山」が、僕にとっては

「宝の山」

になったんですね。

家から片道20分かかるのですが、きっちり2往復してありがたく薪を頂戴してきました。

自分にとっては価値のないものでも、少し形を変えれば、誰かの役に立つっていうことを実感した出来事でした。

ということで、もし愛知県周辺で無料で薪がもらえる情報あったら教えてください 笑
